Copper Vine Lamp #10

Inspired by spiraling plants, this design attempts to evoke a sense of weightlessness. The rice paper shade is very light and appears to float on the handmade copper frame. The soft copper stem tube has gained strength from “work-hardening” through the bending process. The concrete base is heavy, and is more stable than it might appear.  The on/off switch is at the back of the base. 40 watt LED lightbulbs in a warm range work well; lower watt bulbs are also good. Expect to see the copper tubing change color as the surface oxidizes into a patina of bright and dark greens. Not recommended for windy or high traffic areas; keep away from frisky pets and spirited young children!
