I’ve been making furniture and sculptural objects for twenty years, though over the last few years, my focus has been primarily on table lamps. I find inspiration in the challenge to create sculpture that will find a central place in the home to provide light and to radiate an engaging appearance.

The possibilities are endless, but my goal is always to choose and combine materials that bring warmth, playfulness, and an element of surprise into our living spaces. I am often drawn to humble materials: weathered wood, rusted fencing, rough metal tubing, recycled papers and fabrics. Choosing unexpected materials like a chunk of firewood from the burn pile reminds me that the raw materials can come from anywhere and are just waiting to be discovered.
